I was a latchkey kid in the 80s and 90s and was one of those kids that grew up with Oprah. She was on at 4p every day and her show would keep me company while I did homework. Over the years, there was times where I watched every day and others where I barely kept up. But Oprah always had the pulse of American culture.

The newest podcast "Making Oprah" by WBEZ is a podcast about the show and how it evolved over the decades. In the first podcast, you learn how her producers got guests to come on the show. There are also bits of PR inside baseball on how negotiations between a top tier TV show and guests (some famous, some not). It's definitely worth a listen.
